New York City, 2009
ATEC Environmental received a call to respond to an oil leak
coming from a truck parked in a New York neighborhood.
Step One
Upon arriving on the scene, ATEC first took assessment of the area, the extent of the contaminant spread and the source.
Step Two
ATEC provided damage abatement by sealing the leak source, and spreading an absorbent organic material at the leakage site and other heavily affected areas.
Step Three
ATEC then took additional steps in preventing spread of contaminant by blocking off all access to sewer and drain fields and other run-off perimeters using industry specific techniques.
Step Four
Next, ATEC’s crew spread sand over the entire area. After sweeping the material over the entire area, ATEC loaded all materials into containers, leaving the entire area broom clean.
Step Five
The containers with the containment were carefully sealed and loaded into a truck and removed from the area.
Step Six
Drains, sewer lines and other affected areas were carefully inspected and cleaned as necessary.
Step Seven
The source of the leak was then cleaned inside and out, leaving virtually no trace of the incident.
